Sharon Weiser
During my transition from Mrs. To Ms. in 1987 it was time to make some major decisions: would I continue to be an artist? Would I be able to support myself on my own? I did have my BFA in painting and teaching certification, but a fascination with Industrial Design sent me back to college. While there (University of Wisconsin-Stout), a 2 year position in the Art and Design Department was offered, which I gladly accepted. After teaching Presentation Techniques and Perspective drawing to Industrial, Graphic and Interior designers it was time to make another major decision. At the suggestion of my daughter in Arizona, I moved to Scottsdale and entered the arts venue to continue my passion as an artist. This leap of faith was frightening after the security of a lifetime in Wisconsin, but one I am grateful that I made. A variety of subjects always filled my canvas and now the desert images provided new dimensions. Bold colors, diligent attention to detail, realistic subjects, and strong compositions are characteristic of my work. Besides painting, I continue to teach and have included faux finishing into my profession.
